“The militias’ let loose to hunt Gabriel Prosser” - Tim Barry
(Gabriel Prosser)
Gabriel Prosser was born on an unknown day and month in 1776 in Brookfield, Virginia, USA. He was born as a slave on a tobacco plantation. He was taught to read and write. He was also trained as a blacksmith. When he was 20 he was considered an intellect above his rank in life.

In 1800 he planned a slave revolt. He planned to have the revolt in late August but he postponed it. His plan was to lead slaves into Richmond, VA and to take over the city. 2 slaves apart of the plan betrayed Prosser and told their masters of the revolt. The militia was called to take Prosser into custody. He escaped to Norfolk, VA. He was caught and brought back to Richmond, VA. On October 10th, 1800 Gabriel Prosser and 25 other slaves were hanged in Richmond, Virginia, USA. He was about 24 years old.
