Morgan Freeman was born on June 1st, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. As an infant Freeman was sent to live with his grandmother in Mississippi. At 9 years old Freeman started to act. At age 12 he won a statewide drama competition.

In 1955 he graduated from high school. He then enlisted into the Air Force.

In 1959 he moved to Los Angeles, CA. He then moved to San Francisco, CA  where he was a member of the Opera Ring musical theater group. In 1965 he appeared as an extra in The Pawnbroker. In 1968 he appeared on Broadway in the show “Hello Dolly!”. He appeared in the TV show “The Electric Company”.

In 1980 Freeman received an Obie award. In 1984 he received his second Obie Award. In 1989 Freeman starred in Glory and Driving Miss Daisy.

In 1994 he appeared in The Shawshank Redemption.

In 1997 he founded the film production company Revelations Entertainment. In 2003 Freeman appeared in Bruce Almighty.

In 2005 he provided voice narration for 2 films. Also in 2005 he appeared in Batman Begins. In 2008 he appeared in The Dark Knight.

In 2010 he appeared in Red. In 2014 he appeared in Lucy.
