Detroit (2017) 1st Reaction

“I'm just gonna assume you're all criminals”  - Ofc. Krauss

*SPOILERS*

This film was very interesting. I loved when the film used real footage interlaced within the film footage. The film really immersed you in the story as if you were actually there. My favorite part of the film was the whole hallway scene because you can feel the tension and terror felt by those being beaten, harassed and killed by Detroit PD. The film for the most part seemed pretty historically accurate even down to the Police planting weapons on people. The few complaints that I have of the film is that how it portrayed the state police and national guard as more of the good guys than the Detroit PD even though the state police and national guard not interfering makes them just as guilty as if they were the ones participating in the beating and killing. Another complaint I have is that toward the third act of the film it felt to be dragging and could have ended after the court scene. All in all I would give this film a 7.5/10 and would recommend this film to anyone interested in Civil Rights history and Black history.

Get Out 1st Reaction

“TSA, we handle s**t” - Rod Williams

*SPOILERS*
This is the best movie I have seen this year. This movie has so much symbolism and is very realistically scary. This movie addresses a possibility of what happens to the thousands of missing Black people within the United States. This film also spreads light on organ trafficking and how that is a possible main reason why Black people in the U.S. go missing. This film shows the horror of how you could be just snathched off the street and never heard of again. My favorite part of the film was towards the end where Chris Washington (Daniel Kaluuya) escapes the house and kills his captors and the sike out part where a what seems to be cop car comes up and it turns out to be his best friend Rod Williams (Lil Rey Howery). This film is also a type of warning to Black people, for them to be aware of their surroundings, stay in contact with each other, and to know how to defend themselves both with weapons and hand to hand combat to prevent anything like that to happen to yourself. I literally could not find a single thing wrong with this film while viewing it. All in all I would give this film a 10/10. I recommend everyone to see this movie in order to be informed of things like this that are and could be happening within the U.S.

Logan 1st Reaction

“She's like you... she's very much like you” - Professor X

*SPOILERS*
This film was the best X Men movie of all time. Better than Deadpool (2016), better than X Men Days of Future Past (2014), and better than X2 X Men United (2003). This film even rivals The Dark Knight (2008) for the title of the best superhero movie of all time. This film was so emotional and this film has become one of the few movies along with E.T. the Extra Terrestrial (1982) and Terminator 2 Judgement Day (1991) that can make me tear up at the end. My favorite part of the movie was the end where Wolverine went to save the children mutants and X 23 and when Wolverine fought X 24. This was definitely the saddest superhero movie of all time. The saddest part of this whole film was the part where X 24 kills Professor X and killed the whole family that Wolverine, Professor X and X 23 was staying with. Throughout the whole film I could not find anything wrong with the film, until I realized at the end of the film there was no end credit scene and I feel that every superhero movie released after 2008 should always have an end credit scene. All in all I would give this film a 9.9999999/10. I would recommend this film to Marvel fans, Superhero fans and anyone who likes drama.

The Birth of a Nation 1st Reaction

“Rebel!” - Nat Turner
Image result for the birth of a nation 2016 poster

*SPOILERS*

I found this movie to be a great depiction of Nat Turner’s slave rebellion of 1831. It was well written, it was for the most part historically accurate and the acting and action scenes were great. My favorite part of this movie was when Nat Turner leads the other enslaved Blacks to the armory and fight against the 1st group of Whites and win. Some negative things about the movie were some historical inaccuracies such as in the movie Nat Turner turns himself in where in real life he was captured while hiding in the woods. All in all I would rate this movie a 8/10. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes history films, those who want to see a slave movie where the slaves fight back and those who are interested in the life of Nat Turner.

Deadpool First Reaction

“WAIT! You may be wondering why the red suit. Well, that's so bad guys don't see me bleed.

This guy's got the right idea... He wore the brown pants!” ~Deadpool

*Spoilers*

I thought Deadpool was hilarious. It earned that R rating. It was full of 4th wall jokes, gore, action, and nudity. It was a perfect representation of Deadpool from the comics. I really enjoyed how they explained his backstory through flashbacks in between the opening action scene. I also enjoyed how they connected it to the X Men cinematic universe by featuring the X Men mansion and featuring 2 X Men, Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead. I also loved all of the 4th wall jokes referencing other Marvel movies and how they took shots at DC movies and characters too, such as Green Lantern, Batman, and Robin. There were also bad things about the movie too. Sometimes the movie would not stop making jokes to a point where it wasn't funny anymore. Also there were some predictable moments such as at the end when Colossus is giving Deadpool a speech about how he shouldn't kill and how sparing Ajax would make Deadpool a superhero and then Deadpool just kills Ajax anyway, that was just so predictable. Overall my 1st reaction is i loved the movie. It is everything that Deadpool is supposed to be. I give it an overall rating of 8/10. P.S. I can’t wait to see Cable in Deadpool 2.

Blah blah blah….MY TURNNNNN !!
OKAYYYY I barely know anything about superheroes and that is why I think this movie is girlfriend friendly. There were jokes where all the guys in the theater was just laughing their little butts off and the girls just chuckle so we will not have to end up look stupid.I won't even lie this was me when Deadpool made some joke …..
mean while christian was like….

The trailer spoke for itself! This movie is no superhero movie. I love how he talks to the audience, I personally love movies where the character interacts with the audience. However at times it was too much. Like his crotch been all over the camera (rolls eyes). And the crazy profane language. But you know what it is RATED R FOR A REASON .
Overall rating 1,000,000,000.1 out of 10 * Rated R must be ages 30 and up*
